Our Story

The Oldest Family Butchers In Surrey
With roots in Hertfordshire as far back as 1760, the Conisbee’s moved to East Horsley in the 1780’s (originally to the south side of Bluebell Lane on Ockham Road South) where we still have our two shops today.

Park Corner
Our main shop ‘Park Corner’ was built specifically as a butcher shop in 1861 when Lord Lovelace acquired Horsley Towers. Facing west and north, and being slightly buried into a bank meant the building kept cool during the pre-refrigeration summers. This makes us the oldest family butchers in Surrey and we are proud of our strong reputation gained over the years.
Station Parade
Frank Conisbee purchased our ‘Station Parade’ shop in 1954 to prevent competition in the village! The shop has traded well ever since, sharing staff and supplies but with an element of rivalry - especially when it comes to sausage competitions! With nearly 100 years of experience, you are always guaranteed a warm welcome.
