We have a herd of Sussex Cross Limousin suckler cows.  Approximately one hundred cows calve in the Spring and fifty in early Autumn.  The calves stay with their mothers in the fields around our farm at Fetcham and at the National Trust PolesdenLacey farm in Bookham.

 

The steer calves are ready for our shops at 16-18 months and the heifer calves just 2-4 months later.  The cattle are fed on a ration of grass and maize, silage and locally grown barley.

 

The carcasses of beef are dry hung for up to four weeks before butchering.
